Media Group’s Voice Talent of the Week – Female Talent 9

Welcome to Media Group’s ‘Voice Talent Of The Week’ segment. Where each week we showcase one of our talented voice artists.

Today we are talking to Female Talent 9. This talent has over 2 decades of experience and you can really hear it in her voice, this experience really shows as she interprets every script to perfection to give our customers exactly what they need.

Female Talent 9 has a great range to her voice, she excels in recording anything from the ‘girl next door’ to warm believable characters to a credible mature corporate voiceover.

We caught up with her and asked a few questions -

How did you become a voice talent?
I got into it through working in radio. 1 million ads voiced for free at the station, 1 paid voice ad on the side, that sort of thing. I used to have radio as my main job and do voicing on the side, then I did voicing as my main job with radio on the side… then I dropped radio all together!

How long have you been a voice talent?
It’s been about 20 years. I started voicing professionally when I was still at Uni.

Do you remember the first voiceover you ever got paid to do?
I think my first ad was for Ian J Brown (Jewellery Shop) in Perth in about 1997… it was a slice of life ad and I was the recently proposed to girlfriend! I can still remember the script!

What’s the best voiceover you have ever done?
I did a fantastic ad for Harvey Norman just last year. Less to do with me and more to do with some brilliant production, but I was really happy with it. I sounded like a pro!  I also like the sound of the Auswide Bank campaign I voice. Lovely music and sweet graphics.

What’s the worst voiceover you have ever done?
2 women in a café: Oh Janet you look fantastic, have you lost weight?

Do you have a favourite commercial on TV at the moment?
I love anything the Myer chick voices. She has a beautiful voice.

If you could voice the part for a cartoon character who would you like to be?

I would like to be Velma (from Scooby Doo). Smart and Sassy. Hangs around with cool people and gets to work with a Doggo!
